Ashland Q3 Profit Soars, Beats Estimate – Update
Specialty chemicals company Ashland Inc. Friday reported a surge in third-quarter profit, helped by strong sales in its Performance Materials, Consumer Markets and Distribution segments. On an adjusted basis, earnings from continuing operations rose year-over-year and topped Wall Street analysts’ forecast.
Bank Of America, Merrill Lynch Unit Sued By New York Comptroller – Update
Financial services giant Bank of America Corp. (BAC) and its Merrill Lynch & Co. unit have been sued separately in two lawsuits by the New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli for violating federal securities laws, according to a release from the office of the New York State Comptroller.
Mettler-Toledo Q2 Profit Rises; Lifts FY10 Outlook – Update
Precision instruments maker Mettler-Toledo International Inc. (MTD) on Thursday reported an 85% increase in profit for the second quarter, helped by higher sales and improved margins compared to last year. In addition, the year-ago quarter’s results include higher restructuring charges.
