Research In Motion, EBay Expand EBay Application For Blackberry Smartphones To Six More Countries – Update
BlackBerry maker Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM, RIM.TO) and online auctioneer eBay Inc. (EBAY) said Wednesday that the free eBay application for BlackBerry smartphones is immediately available on BlackBerry App World in six more countries. The application is also now officially available to North American BlackBerry smartphone users after a beta-preview period.
Gerdau S.A. Inks Deal To Buy Gerdau Ameristeel For US$11/Shr – Top Story
Mini-mill steel producer Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. (GNA, GNA.TO) and Gerdau S.A. (GGB) announced Wednesday that the duo entered into a definitive arrangement, proposed earlier, to take Gerdau Ameristeel private at a price of US$11.00 cash per publicly held share, or at US$1.6 billion. If approved, the deal would be completed in August 2010.

SciClone Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SCLN) and its partner Sigma-Tau S.p.A., Wednesday announced that in a clinical study its vaccine enhancer ZADAXIN increased seroconversion rate, enhancing immune response, in the critical first six weeks following vaccination for influenza.
H&T Group Sees FY10 Pre-Tax Profit Above Market Consensus – Update
Pawnbroker H&T Group plc (HAT.L) in its pre-close trading update, said Wednesday that it would report strong first-half results, and forecast full-year profit before tax to exceed current market consensus. The company is slated to release interim results for the first six months on August 24.
